CASTROL AND FPR STRENGHTHEN TIES

April 16, 2008 Castrols association with Ford Performance Racing is one of the most successful in the V8 Supercar Championship Series and now the oil giant has recognised this by expanding its sponsorship programme with the team.

Until now the relationship has been focussed on naming rights to the Castrol FPR Falcon car #6, and its driver Steve Richards, but following a great start to the 2008 season the famous brand will also now be prominent on the front bumper of the Orrcon/Ford Credit FPR Falcon car #5 driven by Mark Winterbottom.

Although always present on car 5, the logo’s additional position on the front bumper marks the growing involvement of the Castrol brand with the team.

“When the opportunity popped up for us to increase our exposure on Frosty’s car we jumped at it,” said Castrol Australia Pty Limited Marketing Director Andrew Johnson. “This extension also reinforces our relationship with the leading Ford team.”

FPR Commercial Manager David Vervaart added: “We are delighted to have our relationship with Castrol strengthened with the extension to our existing contract to provide them with greater exposure on car 5. This is another vote of confidence in the team as we continue to establish our position at the pointy end of the championship.”

The new livery will be used from this weekend at V8 Supercar’s round three in Hamilton, New Zealand.
