FPR REPRESENTED ON THE WORLD STAGE

April 2 2008 Ford Performance Racing Chairman, David Richards, has addressed the global motorsport community at this weeks bi annual Motorsport Business Forum in the Middle East.

Richards, who has interests in the World Rally Championship, sports car racing and Formula One as well as the V8 Supercar Championship, spoke of the importance of the current investment into motorsport in the Middle East.

“From next year, this region will have six world class race circuits,” Richards told the packed auditorium in the main speech of the day. “It shows the Gulf has become a significant focal point for the motorsport industry.

“The business model of a stand-alone race circuit is gone forever. This area of the world is looking at motorsport as a proper sustainable business plan and we should all pay attention.”

The V8 Supercar Championship is set to return to Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) for the third consecutive year this November, with FPR winning all the rounds there to date.
